PUR water filters is great

Novaqua is a good brand, but to be honest, many brands do far more than you need and you also can end up paying for brand name instead of increased performance. All you really need is something that will neutralize both chlorine and chloramines.

Prime by Seachem is good. It removes chlorine, chloramine, ammonia & detoxifies nitrite and nitrate. It’s also more concentrated than most water conditioners so keep an eye dropper handy. You won’t be replacing this bottle anytime soon.
I used to use AquaPlus but kept testing quite a lot of nitrates in my tank which I found out were from my tap water. Prime will detoxify nitrates so even though it’s there, the fish aren’t affected by it.

It all depends on what’s already in your water. I would recommend taking it to a pet store like Petco or Petsmart where they’ll test the water for free. Then they can recommend what would work best for your water. Just be sure that you have a temp gage and a pH tester for your tank so you can keep it constant

Correct me if I am wrong, there are several water conditioners.
I bought a package that says, “water conditioner” – but it does Not get rid of chlorine/ chrom’. In fact this water conditioner provide “aquarium water” to your tap water when added to it.
You need a product that says water ager – that get rid of the chlorine.

I like Prime by Seachem. Kinda pricey, but 1 bottle lasts for 2500 gallons-a long time.

Go with Seachem Prime or Amquel + , they both detoxify ammonia and remove nitrites, nitrates, chlorine, chlormines. Seachem will dose alot of water. This is the doses as follows, one capfull of Seachem Prime which is 5ml does 50 gallons. Amquel+ does 10 gallons for every 5ml.

I would recommend that you test your water to see if you need to add anything. Some places have great water and nothing needs to be done. My water is usually very good, but a guy I know who lives less than a mile from me has awful water for raising fish. Also, it depends on the type of fish you are raising.

I’ve heard that Prime is really good. However, I can’t find shipments here, so I use AquaPlus by TetraAqua. It works fine and my water parameters have always tested normal.

Seachem PRIME, because besides doing what other water conditioners do, such as removing metals and chemicals from tap water, it also converts toxic ammonia and nitrite into a non-toxic form. Prime can also be used in higher dosages without any harmful effects in order to neutralize high amounts of toxic ammonia or nitrite.
